Optometric Assistant

We are looking for a Licensed Optician or an Optometric Assistant who is eager to join us at our long-established optometry clinic on beautiful Salt Spring Island, BC. Someone who truly loves to connect with people and wants to be part of a close-knit community and caring "work family" would be the perfect fit. Responsibilities

• Selection of frames and appropriate lenses for a patient's needs.
• Fitting of frames and adjusting/repairs as needed
• Booking patient appointments and general reception duties
• Maintaining patient files and accounts
• Managing frame and lens inventoryPre-exam diagnostic testing (training provided)
• Light cleaning to maintain displays

Skills

• Licensed Optician or Certified Optometric Assistant
• Experience in customer service and retail sales
• Knowledge of optical products and services
• Knowledge of contact lenses an asset, but if not, willingness to learn
• Openness to expand scope of knowledge and evolve with the practice
• Practiced at using active listening with both coworkers and clients
