Optometric Technician

We are a small group that needs help welcoming and guiding patients through our office. This will include serving patients, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
To ensure a successful experience, you have the ability to be energetic in a busy environment, have strong interpersonal skills with a desire to learn. Our office is currently in a digital transition, so excellent computer skills are ideal for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary diagnostic testing using automated equipment and accurately record results in electronic patient records.
- Welcome and assist patients, ensuring a positive, professional, and patient-centered experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of shared clinic and office spaces.
- Coordinate and manage patient flow to support efficient clinic operations.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Receive, process, and organize product orders while maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English is required, and French is considered an asset.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on enhancing the patient experience.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills, including active listening, verbal, and written communication.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a busy healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an optometric, ophthalmic, or other healthcare-related setting is considered an asset.
