Upper Richmond Optometry is growing and looking to add an Optical Assistant to our team. As a high-volume clinic, we are seeking individuals who are confident, organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Welcoming patients and creating a positive experience from check-in to check-out
  • Performing pre-testing and preparing patients for their appointments
  • Conducting diagnostic imaging and testing, including OCT, retinal imaging, and visual fields
  • Scheduling appointments and assisting with clinic flow
  • Processing insurance and direct billing submissions
  • Providing contact lens training and education
  • Supporting doctors and team members in delivering outstanding patient care
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • CCOA Certification or 1–2 years of experience in an optometry clinic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Professional and patient-focused approach

Assets

  • Ocular Hygienist Certification
  • Dry eye knowledge or experience
  • Experience performing pre-testing and diagnostic imaging
  • Contact lens training experience
