Optician or Optometric Assistant

Focal Pointe Eyecare – Heritage Pointe / South Calgary (Full-Time, 5 Days/Week — No Weekends)

Focal Pointe Eyecare is a modern, independent clinic focused on elevated eyecare, curated eyewear, and personalized patient experiences. We combine advanced diagnostics, clinical excellence, and a thoughtfully selected frame collection to deliver intentional, patient-centered care in a calm, design-forward environment.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Optician or Optometric Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pre-testing and patient flow with accuracy and efficiency
• Provide frame styling and lens recommendations based on lifestyle and visual needs
• Manage dispensing, fittings, adjustments, and aftercare
• Take measurements and ensure accurate order processing
• Support front desk coordination and scheduling
• Contribute to a consistently welcoming and well-maintained clinic environment

Schedule

• Full-time: 5 days/week
• No weekends

Qualifications

• Experience in optometry or optical practice preferred
• Licensed Optician or working toward licensure is an asset
• An appreciation for fashion, design, and independent eyewear, with the ability to guide patients toward frames that reflect both their visual needs and personal style, is a strong asset
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Experience with EMR or optical software is an asset
