About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Front Desk / Optometric Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting the clinical team with pre-testing, administrative tasks, and day-to-day clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and provide a warm, professional experience from arrival to departure
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient communications, and answer incoming phone calls
  • Collect and update patient information and maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Perform preliminary testing and patient assessments as required
  • Assist optometrists with patient flow and examination preparation
  • Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, eyewear options, and contact lenses
  • Support optical sales by assisting patients with frame selection and product recommendations
  • Process payments, insurance claims, and direct billing where applicable
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinic environment
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless patient experience

Who you are

  • Someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Comfortable learning new technology and electronic medical record systems
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of optical products, contact lenses, or pre-testing equipment is an asset but not required

Schedule

  • Monday & Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday & Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Saturday: occasionally 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM


Compensation:

  • $19.00 – $22.00
